Country accuracy

At a glance

The community member is curious about the accuracy of the "Top Countries" dashboard information they received in an email. They noticed that the countries from which requests have been made in the last 1 month are not listed, but there are some from China in the 1-3 month range. They wonder if this is a recent change or if the dashboard may not accurately represent the "country of origin" that OpenAI uses.

In the comments, another community member responds that the country accuracy is very reliable for where the requests are being sent to, and offers to help the original poster find a solution to force their requests to be sent to a specific region. Another community member provides an update, stating that Vercel has reached out and said they will be blocking the Hong Kong region, and they have their own solution, so they will rely on that.

Useful resources
Hey! Curious if anyone else has also received this email and how accurete the dashboard info for "Top Countries" is.

I see that in the last 1 month all of the countries from which the request comes from are not in the list, but in the 1mo - 3mo range there are a few from China. Curious if it's something that they just started sending or the dashboard might not accurately represent the "country of origin" that OpenAI might use

Hi Steffan! The country accuracy is very reliable for where the request is being sent to. If you want to force your requests to be sent to a specific region, I’d be happy to help you find a solution that works
Hey! Just as an update, Vercel reached out and they said that the region that they will be blocking is Hong Kong https://vercel.com/changelog/openai-will-not-support-the-hong-kong-region-hkg1-for-functions

They have their own solution, so I'll rely on that, but thansk for offering!
